March in Pictures

My friend, Tiffany, from South Carolina (fellow Marine wife I went to college with in North Carolina) came down to see us the week before we moved.

We went to San Angelo and I got to spend some time with my friend, Erin, her husband, Chaz, and 2 boys, Caleb and Truitt.... this is Truitt "petting" Wyatt. He said, "Mama, can I pet him?" lol

And for my 2 favorite pictures of the month....

March has flown by! We've lived in our house in Jacksonville, FL (including 1 night in an empty house and sleeping on an air mattress), a night in Valodosta, GA with my family, a night in a hotel in Louisiana, a night in a hotel in Houston, TX, a night in a hotel in San Antonio, and then the Mr.'s mom's house in Fredericksburg, TX where we have been living for a week and a half! On Friday we finally move into our apartment in San Antonio! I was so worried how Wyatt would do over the last couple weeks but he has been great! Just goes with the flow, which has made everything a lot easier than it could have been :) So the next week or 2 we will be setting up our new home. Then on April 15th we have company coming... Wyatt's Great Aunts Debbie and Terrie! (And hopefully his Aunt Ashly and Uncle Jason!)

Bullet Points

-The Mr. got me an iPad for my (early) 25th birthday present.
- I am NOT a "gadget" person at. all. My phone is even pretty old school.. I've never even had the Internet on my phone. But I LOVE my iPad.
- We are living with the Mr.'s mom right now in Fredericksburg, TX until April 1st.
- We got to take a look at our apartment in San Antonio.. I really like it. It's much smaller than our house, but very nice and we will make it home.
- I gave up Facebook for Lent....40 days.. I wasted way to much time on there anyways and am actually enjoying my time away. =) But I will be back... Probably with tons of pictures to post.
- I chopped my hair off. But now I miss it.
- Speaking of hair, I think I'm going through the point where you lose a lot of hair after having a baby...I run my fingers through it and a bunch of it falls out. Gross.
- We need to find Wyatt a new pediatrician. I'm really bummed, we loved his Dr. in Jacksonville.
- We'll also be looking for a new church.
- The Mr. is making a little extra cash right now by working with his mom at auctions.
- We are really enjoying our time here in "small town, USA." We loved Jacksonville, FL but it's nice to get away from the big city and have space and time for your soul to breathe :)
- We are going to San Angelo this weekend... The place where I met the Mr. almost 11 years ago. Wow.
- Oh, and did I mention I LOVE my iPad?? I really do!

TEXAS!

Hey every one this is Tyler or otherwise known as Mr. If you havn't caught the new blog title and the previous blog announcement this blog is now officially a family blog for the Dahl's. Here's my first post.

We are finally back home in Texas and it feels good!

We started our drive on Friday and took 3 days to drive out from Florida, it was a lazy relaxing 3 days though. Huge thanks to the Mrs' mom, Jolleen, for accompanying us on our trip, you were a miracle worker.

We finally made it to San Antonio on Monday around 1100 am. We had the rest of the day to burn in San Antonio so we went to our new apartment complex and did a walk through of our new place. It's really nice, small but it'll be home for sure.

For now, we are staying with my mom for a little while which is interesting to say the least, haha I love you mom. Just hanging out with the Mrs and family.

Check out how the cats took the trip...

Mr. and Mrs.

If I knew there were people that read my blog other than family and close friends, this would be a post introduing my husband, Tyler :) But seeing as how the majority of my readers are his side of the family... I don't think that's necessary. So on to introducing OUR new blog! Shortly after Wyatt was born, Tyler posted a few blogs. I'm sure ya'll remember this one =) (so funny to read how life was just 3 short months ago, we are MUCH more settled now! And Wyatt sleeps from 7:00 pm - 7:00 am with one night feeding!!)Anyways, Tyler used to have a blog of his own where he wrote about mostly current political issues. He actually enjoys writing and mentioned that he wanted to continue blogging on this blog. I couldn't convince him to start his own daddy blog ;) so we decided to turn this one into a blog for both of us! Welcome to "Mr. & Mrs." .... we will be changing a few things over the next couple days, but for now we've got the new title up and running!

Help!

My devotion this morning was so awesome I just wanted to take a few minutes and write about it :) The passage was from Nehemiah 2:1-18 with the focus being on verse 4. Nehemiah is a cupbearer for the king and was expected to always be cheerful in the king's presence. This particular day, Nehemiah was sad as he was thinking about the destruction in Jerusalem. In verse 2, the king asks him why he looks sad and it says that Nehemiah was "very much afraid" (that the king had noticed). The king goes on to say, "What is it you want?" (Nehemiah wanted to ask the king if he would grant him permission to go and rebuild the walls of Jerusalem) and Nehemiah writes, "Then I prayed to the God of heaven."

We don't know whether Nehemiah was relieved to finally have an opportunity to ask this of the king or if he was afraid! Either way, I am sure he was very anxious. But he "prayed to the God of heaven" and then asks the king if he may leave to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. The devotion talks about how this is one of the most spontaneous prayers in the Bible. Nehemiah's first reaction was to call upon God. (The king did allow him to go)

Which leads me to ask myself, Do I respond in the same way in my own life?.... whether I encounter a scary situation that causes worry to rise up inside of me or recieve good news that makes me rejoice... is it my first reaction to turn to God and pray? Does it come as natural as breathing? To which I have to answer no. I often take my focus off of Him. I allow the worry to turn to fear instead of casting my cares on Him (Psalm 55:22). I don't always give thanks when God deserves all the praise (1 Thess. 5:18).

The devotion goes on to mention 1 Thess. 5:17 which says "Pray continually" (I think I can memorize that one ;) ).. Now, of course I know what continually means, but sometimes it gives a lot more meaning to verses to look up the definition of words.. so that's what I did.

Continually - very often, at regular or frequent intervals, habitually. without intermission, unceasingly, always.

For me, that helps me "visualize" a little easier what it looks like to lead a life of continual prayer.. to be in a constant state of communion with the Almighty. Wow. How much more would I feel the presence of God in my life if I made it a habit to pray. I sure have a habit of drinking coffee every morning, without even thinking about it I wake up, get out of bed, and stumble to start the coffee pot before my eyes are even open ;) lol (slight exaggeration) =) But you get the point.

This devotion was so timely as we are 3 days away from embarking on the biggest transition we have had as a couple, and now a family! At the end of the devotion there is a quote that says "Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God." (Corrie ten Boom) Our future has never been more unknown ... but I am choosing to trust... and pray!

Best Buds and "Puppy Lip"

Wyatt loves when Tyler comes home from work! I think he finds him a little more entertaining than me (he's definitely more hyperactive, lol). I took some pictures of the 2 of them this evening. This is Tyler's last week in the Marine Corps. That uniform will be put away forever
=( Wyatt will never even remember these days....

He's gone from looking at his hands to looking at his feet :)

And now for the puppy lip video....

Giggles

Wyatt started giggling and we tried all day to get it on video... Here is a video with several clips put together. Please ignore my fake laughing (trying to get Wyatt to laugh) and Tyler's weird noises.. he tried so hard to get him to laugh for me on camera :) Enjoy!
(P.S. Tyler is calling him a vampire in the beginning because he had spit dripping out both sides of his mouth...Tyler thought they looked like fangs, lol)

We Are....

.. eating random and various foods trying to empty the fridge, freezer, and pantry out

.. living in a house with bare walls and much less furniture than it used to have

.. sorting through closets and cabinets getting rid of "stuff" and setting aside things the movers will not take

.. preparing to be living out of suitcases for 16 days until we are settled into our new apartment and our household goods are delivered

.. making lists of things that need to be done before we move and things that we will need to do once we get to Texas

.. setting up dates for the internet, cable, electricity, and water to be turned off

.. excited

.. anxious

.. and ready to be moving on!

I forgot how much work it is to move! We have been busy, busy, busy!

Bunny Slippers!

Relaxing in his slippers

And then he gets to kicking....

And off it goes :)

No better place to be

All smiles!

Concentrating

And his newest "trick" is shaking his rattle he got from Grandma C. She showed him how to use it over the weekend and he just shakes, shakes, shakes!! Here's a video of that. (I will admit it is probably pretty boring to watch unless you are his mom or dad in which every. little. thing. he does is just simply amazing ;) lol)

Better Already...

I just wanted to let you all know that we have already seen a big improvement since starting Wyatt on the Zantac just a couple days ago! He is not quite eating the amount that he was, but he is no longer fighting his bottles and I'm sure he'll be back to chowing down in no time. =)

We are headed up to Georgia to spend one last weekend with my family. I am so thankful we did not take the last couple years for granted being able to live SO close to each other! We have made so many fun memories and spent so much time together. It has been such a blessing. This isn't the last time we will see them... my mom is driving with us back to Texas so we'll be going by their house to pick her up when we get on the road, but it will be our last weekend just hanging out together. They are still waiting for their orders to find out where they will be moving next.

We are TEXAS-BOUND in 15 days!!!

"Medical" Update

Hey Everyone!

Wanted to let you all know what is going on with Wyatt. I figured this was the easiest and quickest way =)
Last week at his 2 month appointment we found out he has an allergy to milk. (major symptomn being blood in his stools) So the Dr. told us to switch him to a formula called Nutramigen, which is a (VERY expensive) hypoallergenic formula. Well we started the transition to the new formula and about the same time, Wyatt was suddenly refusing to eat! (Which we all know is very unusual for him) =) When I would try to feed him, he began arching his back, throwing his head back, and just crying! He spits the nipple out of his mouth and turns his head away, ect. We assumed it was the formula so we tried his old formula again but that didn't solve the problem either. Over the last few days we've tried different kinds of bottles, tried different size nipples, changed up his routine to where he would eat right before a nap (he ate a little easier when sleepy), ect... Well anyways, nothing was solving it and we were getting worried as he was eating less and less. (since the formula wasn't the issue he is back on only the Nutramigen)

I took him in today and found out the culprit is reflux (acid reflux). When I described his behavior to his Dr. he knew immediately. The first thing he asked was, "Does he get the hiccups?" All the time!! lol So, the reflux and food allergy are kind of a combined deal he was explaining to me. To keep things short.. basically Wyatt has inflammation of his gut and is dealing with pain from the reflux coming up his esophagus. GOOD news is that even though he is eating significantly less right now, he IS still gaining weight. (gained 7 ounces in last 9 days) So he is getting the nutrition he needs. He is just showing a food aversion due to the pain in his tummy. Dr. prescribed Zantac (for infants) and we are starting it today. He said it should be a temporary medicine to resolve the issue and allow his gut and esophagus to heal from the reflux. He wants to hear back from us in 7 days as he said we should see a significant difference in his behavior by then.

Keep him in your prayers that we can resolve this quickly! As for now.. he is getting lots of extra cuddles and kisses!!
